My visit

When designing a ball you have many things to consider and it differs acording to the specific kind of ball. Things like the choice of material, size, laws of physics, or more specific; the mechanics laws. At my visit I can explain a lot about these laws, because I work with them every day.

I am working with mechanical machinery and equipment, designing and calculating them. I also design the layouts of the refineries once in a while. The most interesting part is to walk into a refinery which I have done the deign. I am really enthusiastic about leading people and providing info for them to do their job.

I have an MSc in mechanical engineering.

I always liked to work and build the things with my hands, and enjoyed making the stuff myself. Then my supervisor at school introduced mechanical engineering to me, which was exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up. During my education it made perfect sense for me why I had studied so much math during my school years.

• ask the pupils or students to make a sketch of or a draft for a ball, thinking about the design of the ball
• question what is important when designing the ball
• talk to the pupils about what kind of ball they like and why the like that particular ball
